It’s easy to get caught up in spiritual trends, but not every trend is what works best for you. Everyone has their own energetic blueprint and soul path. Therefore, it’s only natural to connect to different spiritual things that speak specifically to you. This may mean that being a yogi is perfect for your best friend but no matter how hard you’ve tried (and you have!) it just doesn’t feel right for you. That’s perfectly normal and you aren’t letting your soul down by not connecting to certain spiritual practices.
The emptiness started to consume her. She sat in her reading nook with the latest spiritual novel and it was happening again. She was completely unable to connect and it was tearing her apart. Marissa spent years trying to connect to her soul. She has always been surrounded by spiritual people and participated in many types of spiritually uplifting activities. However, she deeply felt that something was missing, and she was at a loss for what it could be. She decided that she needed to be more focused and dedicated to her spirituality. That would for sure fix the nagging emptiness she felt. She took more classes, spent more time in meditation, and all the while, kept ignoring that spark that rose up inside of her.
Marissa would light up at anything to do with drawing, painting, or similar artwork. She felt it in her bones. She was her happiest when she was consumed in her creativity. She connected deeply to each brushstroke, always chose the perfect colors and seemed to effortlessly create artwork that looked and felt amazing.
Not just to her, Marissa’s artwork felt good to everyone who viewed it. The comments she received were genuine and she saw how her artwork actually transformed people’s attitudes. She appreciated this about herself but kept her creativity on the back burner as a hobby, pushing it aside to focus on her spiritual practices, trying to discover her spiritual connection.
Marissa was missing a huge sign from the universe. She was at her very best and most spiritually connected when she was being creative. She had been searching for many years going from one spiritual practice to the next looking for something that would click with her soul. She never considered that her creativity was that missing piece.
Source, God, Universal Energy—however you refer to it—knows what it is that you need to be your best spiritual self. Often times our talents are the exact spiritual connection that we need. Spirituality has been gaining more and more interest in today’s world and many spiritual activities have popped up to help people become connected to their souls. When something becomes mainstreamed like meditation or yoga, it’s easy to second guess yourself. We tell ourselves that what we feel connected to must be wrong because it hasn’t been embraced in spiritual circles.
People are constantly on the lookout for what makes them happy and often turn to things that are not in alignment with their souls, even when making a marked attempt to connect in a spiritual way. Everything does not work for everyone, so, how do you find out what works for you without sifting blindly through hundreds of possibilities hoping one of them connects with you?
No matter if you choose to keep your spark to yourself or share it with the world, it remains a piece of your soul and your soul’s purpose. It is a constant reminder that you are spiritually connected. Modern spiritual trends do not define your personal connection to the Source of all. You do. Listen to your soul and explore your spark. This world is waiting for exactly what you have to offer.
