About Me
Hi, I’m Sandra Joy.
I help people heal, rebuild, and move forward through guided meditation, recovery support, personalized hypnotherapy, and practical tools for lasting change.
My work is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. After a traumatic brain injury changed the direction of my life, I eventually left my teaching career, faced struggles with alcohol, entered inpatient treatment, and began the long process of rebuilding my confidence, identity, and health. I have now been sober for more than ten years.
I understand what it feels like to know that something needs to change while still feeling overwhelmed, afraid, or unsure where to begin.
Today, I create a compassionate, grounded space where people can explore the beliefs, habits, emotional patterns, and experiences that may be keeping them stuck. Through guided practices, recovery support, reflection, and hypnotherapy when appropriate, we focus on creating meaningful change that feels realistic, personal, and sustainable.
From Teacher to Guide
For 20 years, I taught English literature in public schools. Today, I use that same heart for teaching to help people reclaim clarity, self-trust, and purpose in their work and lives.
Degrees:
B.S. in English Education — Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 2000
M.S. in Instructional Technology — Johns Hopkins University, 2003
M.S. in Reading Education, Reading Specialist — Millersville University, 2010
Why This Work Matters: You don’t need to push harder—you need space, clarity, and real support. I’m here to walk with you as you build something honest and lasting.
